Accounting A.A.S.
The Accounting Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is a comprehensive 60-credit program designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the professional workforce or for transfer to a four-year institution. By blending rigorous financial and managerial accounting coursework with a broad foundation in business law, economics, and general education, the curriculum ensures graduates possess the analytical and technical skills necessary for diverse roles in corporate, government, or non-profit sectors.

Program Information
The Accounting A.A.S. program is designed to prepare students for immediate employment in the accounting field in an entry-level professional position. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and apply them to business situations. Students will also use application software to solve business and accounting problems. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in the following courses: ACCT 100 Business Accounting, ACCT 101 Principles of Accounting I, ACCT 201 Intermediate Accounting I, ACCT 202 Intermediate Accounting II, ACCT 220 Accounting Information Systems, and ACCT 111 Computerized Accounting. (Transfer students should follow the business administration program.)
Success in the program is defined by your ability to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This program ensures that every student achieves the following core competencies:
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles to record accounting transactions/adjustments and create financial statements.
- Construct financial , estimates, reconciliations, and reports to support business decision-making using appropriate technology.
- Create financial statements and record accounting transactions/adjustments utilizing accounting software.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in a business environment.
