Student Government Association

Time spent in the classroom is just part of your experience as a student at FCC. Make new friends, gain leadership experience, explore personal areas of interest, and meet others who share those interests by joining clubs and organizations.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the primary affinity group that represents the voice of the student body.

Recognizing the final authority of the Board of Trustees in matters of governance of the College, SGA provides a forum for the expression of student views on issues that affect them and promotes the development of leadership skills for all students.

SGA selects student representatives to:

  1. Participate in College governance and the decision-making process
  2. Develop social, cultural, and educational programming
  3. Allocate funds generated by the collection of student activity fees

Join SGA

All students are automatically members of the Student Government Association, giving you a direct voice in the decisions that shape your campus experience. These bi-monthly public meetings (2nd and 4th Tuesday each month) serve as an open forum where you can share concerns, propose new initiatives, and collaborate with student leaders on projects that improve student life. By engaging with the SGA, you gain firsthand insight into college governance while building the advocacy skills necessary to champion the interests of your peers. Self-enrolling on the SGA Blackboard page ensures you never miss a deadline for grant applications, campus-wide elections, or special town hall events. No sign-up is necessary, however, we encourage you to self-enroll on the SGA Blackboard page to receive updates and email reminders about SGA.
